HAVING taken the decision to revert back to last season's league format - combining the Premier and First Division - following the sad resignation of Old Alts Reserves, things couldn't be looking brighter for unbeaten Stockport AFC who thumped Mary Dendy 7-1 at Great Warford.

A JOHN Corley effort in the dying seconds of the match was not quite enough to give Lindow a share of the points following a lively match at Bolly Rec.

Bolly took the lead on 28 minutes through a Dave Clowes header and should have added to their tally but as half time loomed Steve Bennett stole in to equalise for Lindow.

Less than a minute later the Wayne Sutton-Dave Clowes combination worked again for Bolly as Dave Clowes scored his second of the match with another strong header.

Lindow were stronger in the second half and worked hard to find an equaliser but with two minutes to go, Alex Donaldson sealed the game for Bolly with his first goal of the season.

OAK are beginning to find their feet after an opening day hiccup and secured a 2-1 victory with two second half goals from Tim Hammond. Liam Hadfield replied for The Bruce.

VERNON did all the damage in the first half with three headed goals from Tom Hopkins, Abdul Ben Gahlbon and Wayne Lauder with Paul Henshaw adding a fourth. Gary Fittes grabbed a second half consolation for the Vets form the penalty spot.

A TOUGH game for a young Poynton side, who having taken the lead through Pete Hardicre, were subjected to intense pressure through out the game until finally Villa equalised through a Will Byron header on 88 minutes.

ANTHONY Herbert's hat-trick left the Nomads wondering what had hit them as The Robin strolled to victory at Deva Close. Robin's other goals came from Jamie Collins and John Mercer.

Stockport AFC 7

A DELIGHTED Stockport player-manager Jason Fairfield admitted his side were enjoying their unbeaten start to the season after another victory at Mary Dendy.

He said: "We are fitter and more disciplined than last season. We also have good players in every position - who knows what the season will hold for us but we are looking forward to it!"

Despite holding out for 40 minutes, the Dendy boys crumbled in the second half. Scott Bajic, Mark Jones, Jason Fairfield, Curtis Thompson, Steven Hindle, Pete Hulme and Nathan Gray all scoring for the visitors.

Andy Currie scored Dendy's consolation effort.

CLUB AZ cruised to victory with a seven goal blitz in the first half including a hat-trick for Simon Richard. Other goals came from Paul Bethall (2) , Will Herbert and Martin Uttley (2). Nelson's goals came from Waquar Hussain and Phil Stokes.

DESPITE an early goal from Wayne Shufflebotham, Boar Hound still remain without a win.

Poynton's goals came from Dan Hunter (2) and Simon Crossley with Mark Sutton netting a late consolation.
