Macclesfield Town chariman Mark Blower believes his team are more than capable of securing promotion from the National League thanks to their transfer activity this month.

The Silkmen have brought in a number of players on loan over the past week, including Rhys Turner, Adam Ansoh and Louis Robles.

David Fitzpatrick and Shwan Jalal have both signed new contracts with the Silkmen too, while Tony Diagne has extended his loan from Lincoln City.

Midfielder Danny Whitehead has signed for Wigan Athletic, but Macc won’t be losing him yet as he will remain with the club for the remainder of the season.

With all that in mind, Blower doesn’t see any reason why his team cannot book a return to League Two next season.

“We’re really happy with the business we have done so far this month.

“It was always going to be important to try and keep this squad together and we have managed to do that,” he told the club’s official website.

“David and Shwan have done very well on their short-term deals and we were always very keen to extend their contracts, while Tony has impressed so far during his loan spell.

“To have all three players for the rest of the season can only be a good thing.

“Obviously we were disappointed to lose Danny to Wigan, but we have managed to get a good deal for the club, especially with him returning on loan.

“He has done very well for us this season, and once again I’d like to thank the supporters for helping make his original signing possible back in the summer.

“On the back of that deal we were able to bring in Adam Anson and Louis Robles from Wigan who will both give the squad some depth, while we have also signed Rhys Turner from Oldham who will add competition for places up front after Reece Styche returned to Kidderminster.

“I’d like to wish Reece well, and also send our best wishes to Curtis Haynes-Brown who has also left the club at the end of his contract.

“There is a real togetherness at the club at the minute and the supporters are playing a huge part in the success of this team.

“The ‘Crowdfunder’ that was launched in the autumn has significantly contributed to us being able to keep this squad together and we have some real momentum at the minute.

“We are in a great position going in to the final few months of the season and I am confident that we can make this a year to remember for the club. So I urge the fans to please continue to turn out in numbers and continue their fantastic support.”
