SATELLITE Swimming Club’s talented youngsters continued their success at the North Midland Age Group Championships, securing no fewer than 76 Championship positions.

Flo Thwaites-Miles led the way, winning the nine-year-olds’ Top Girl trophy and Rory Heywood received the runner-up trophy in the 10-year-old Boys’ division.

Chelsea Oliver achieved the highest number of North Midland titles within the club in a tremendous personal performance.

Sam Barratt held a close race in the final heat of the 14-year-olds’ 1,500m freestyle winning by 0.13 seconds in a personal best of 1.07.03.

Peter Anderson was inches away from winning the 50m freestyle but was touched out and came away with a respectable second place.

Club officials are anticipating that many of their swimmers will be involved in the North Midlands swimming team for the Inter-Association gala to be held later in the season.

Satellite swimmers will now switch their focus to the Cheshire County Championships in March and are currently training hard for the challenges ahead.
