ALDERLEY St Phillips leapfrogged both Boarhound and Club AZ to claim top spot after an excellent 3-1 win against Poynton Kingfisher at Woodford Rec.

Anthony Mape hit his 10th of the season for Saints and Sean Kelly and Mark O'Gara completed the scoring. Mike Taylor replied for the Kingfisher.

At Congleton Road, Boarhound suffered a heavy 9-0 defeat at the hands of Offerton Villa. Will Byron hit a hat-trick with further goals coming from Simon Keightley, Steve Healey, Ollie Byron, Adrian Daniels, Danny Jenkins and Nick Cheetham.

Unbeaten Royal Oak stay in hot pursuit of the leaders after another victory, this time 4-0 against Mary Dendy at Bollington Cross. Dave Lovatt hit a hat-trick while Sean Gill added a fourth. It was also another solid defensive display from the title-favourites, who have conceded only three goals this term.

Bollington Athletic went third with their fifth win in six games - a 1-0 victory against Juno at Sandringham Road. The game was heading for a stalemate until debutant Nick Sherratt popped up with five minutes remaining to seal the points for Bolly.

Having scored just once in the league this season, Poynton FC found their scoring boots to hit four against Old Alts - but still ended up losing 7-4. Lewis Cowan hit a brace for Poynton with Mark Oxborough and Lee Stubbs also on the scoresheet, while Kevin Austin (2), Dave Holden, Dean Mazatelli, James McHugh, Mike Steele and Danny Duffy were on target for the winners.

In the derby at Deva Close, Poynton Nomads A ran out comfortable 5-0 winners against Nomads B. Tom Gaskell (3), Dave Norbury and substitute Dan Hunter were on target.

A hat-trick from Shaun Summers wasn't enough to give Nelson a share of the points against Lindow at Upcast Lane. Goals from Tommy Gill, his ninth of the league season, Steve Bennett, Mike Harrison, Nick Killeen and Ant Cummings ensured a 5-3 victory.

A Wayne Reilley strike, however, was enough to see Phoenix secure their first win of the season. Old Alts Vets going down 1-0 at Crossford Bridge.
