Disappointing Kerridge beaten by Haslington

CRICKET: Kerridge 96, Haslington 97-2 (Haslington win by eight wickets)

MISSING four regular players, Kerridge were no match for a competent Haslington side who won the game by playing competitive cricket.

Batting first, Naeem scored 16 off the first over before holing out and, after that, only the veteran Rick Gleave (40 not out) really troubled the scorers as, on a cloudy afternoon, Kerridge subsided to 96 all out.

Haslington had little difficulty in gaining the points with just Mark Huddart taking both wickets to fall and the Clarke Lane outfit will require more application when they entertain Audlem on Saturday.

AFTER starting the season by winning their first three games, Kerridge have got to find a way back after their losing run stretched to six games.

Batting first, the home side made a respectable 165 with young Joe Rodd making a well struck 25.

He was assisted by Alessio Livoigl (30) and Richard Barrow (26)

However, Kerridge's bowling limitations were shown up as the visitors reached their target with just four wickets down, Lawerty (57) and Shah (49 not out) top-scoring.

Matt Waite, with two for 27, was the pick of the home attack.
