Boxing boys ready for action

MACCLESFIELD Boys Boxing Club's third annual show at Wilmslow Leisure Centre looks sure to be a hit.

Tickets are going fast and the event, on February 9, looks as though it will be another sell-out.

Local favourites Liam Hanrahan, Peter Bebbington, Michael Fitzpatrick, and Joe Collins, as well as Wilmslow lad Josh Spence are among those who will be in action on the night.

Head Coach Kevin Bradbury is putting together some well matched bouts, and tickets are available from the Macclesfield and Wilmslow information centres by calling 01625 522275 (Macclesfield) or 504209 (for Wilmslow).

The club staged two winter shows in 2005 and 2006 and this year's, at the Rectory Fields venue, looks sure to be another highly successful night.

Meanwhile, new equipment has been installed and work on the new gym is continuing, thanks to local tradesmen and suppliers who have offered support.

The club is appealing to anyone who can supply wall mirrors, a valued part of equipment, to contact them.
