POTT Shrigley took over at the league summit after they defeated Lymm Outringham Park in the top-of-the-table clash in division two of the Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League.
Chasing 156 for 9, Andy Hart guided the home side to victory with a superb 75 off 54 balls. Well supported by brother, Jamie (33), and Nathan Bull (21 not out), Hart dispatched the bowling to all parts to see Shrigley home by seven wickets.
In a rain-affected match reduced to 37 overs a side, Potts' bowling and fielding started to look a little ragged as Lymm raced to 70 for 2 off only 16 overs, despite a fine run out by Warren Barlow.
However, a timely rain interruption enabled the team to regroup and, when the action re-started, Shrigley made immediate in-roads into the visitors' middle order. Alex Jackson did the most damage on his return from university in an excellent unbroken spell of 5-59 off 18 overs and, together with Rick Mattock (3-36), restricted Lymm to 156 for 9.
