MACC Hockey Club have turned some heads over the last 12 months with success on and off the field - but now they want more people to get involved!
The senior and junior sections of the club are on the lookout for new players who wish to join their ranks as an alternative to 'regular' participation sports such as football and rugby.
Macclesfield boasts 175 members and operates four men's, three ladies' and both junior boys' and girls' sides between September and April. Senior matches are played on Saturdays and junior games are contested on a Sunday.
The ladies' section of the club in particular has made some notable achievements in the last few years. The first team finished as runners-up in Cheshire League Division One for the last two years and are seeking promotion and the seconds scooped the Cheshire Plate for the third time in four years.
Junior member Rachel Lesser was also voted as the best player in Division One last season.
Macc have attracted some generous sponsors this season, with The Oxford and the Cheshire Building Society among those sponsoring shirts for the senior sides.
Training for senior men is held at King's School (boys' site) on Wednesdays between 7.30-9pm. Juniors (under-13s) is at Tytherington High on Saturdays
Ladies club night training is held at Ryles Park School on Thursday evenings between 7-9pm. The first team squad trains on Tuesdays between 7-9pm at the same venue.
Girls training (under-13s) is at Ryles Park on Sundays between 10.30am-noon.
