RU: Macclesfield's first and second teams both travel to Merseyside to play Birkenhead Park.

The first XV will come up against a Birkenhead Park side that has settled fairly well into North One.

The Merseysiders lie in a mid-table position with 11 points, having won five and drawn one of their ten league games.

Last Saturday, they travelled to Darlington and gave the home side much to think about before losing 27-24.

Macclesfield will be taking nothing for granted against a side eager to get revenge after losing the Cheshire Cup final to the Blues in April.

At home, Birkenhead have beaten Sandal (76-14) and West Hartlepool (48-0), losing to Chester (28-30) and Cleckheaton (20-25).

On their travels, they have won at Huddersfield (18-17), Driffield (10-8) and Morley (13-3), with a 23-23 draw at Aspatria.

Ross Harper should be in contention along with James Watts, who had flu last week.

George Browning, who attended Saturday's game on crutches, is out until into 2003 but everyone else in the squad should be in contention for what promises to be a good game of open rugby.

Do not forget the earlier kick off time - Saturday 2.15pm - and make allowances for the pre-Xmas traffic to get to their 'Upper Park' ground.

Directions: Leave M53 at junction 1 and follow the signs for Bidston and Birkenhead centre. Go straight on at roundabout with church in centre. Take the first right after the Aldi Supermarket into Park Road North. The ground is on the left. Allow an hour and a quarter to get there.
