Willo eager for Hull tie

SOCCER: Steve Wilson is looking forward to one last trip to Boothferry Park when Macclesfield face his old club Hull in the FA Cup next month.

The Silkmen keeper - who moved to Cheshire last month after commuting from Hull for more than a year - spent a decade with the Tigers.

And he was thrilled when Saturday night's draw gave the Silkmen an away tie against the team managed by former England under-21 boss Peter Taylor.

It will be Macclesfield's last trip to Boothferry Park - as Hull are due to move into a new stadium just before Christmas.

Wilson said: "It's a brilliant draw. I'm looking forward to it, although we would have liked them at home.

"But we need to progress as far as we can in the FA Cup for financial reasons.

"It's a tough draw, but we've got a good record there, and we'll be going there full of confidence.

"It will be a good opportunity for me to see my family as well, because I've moved over to Macclesfield with my wife now."

The tie should be good for Macclesfield's finances too - as they will get a share of the receipts from an expected 10,000 crowd at Boothferry Park.

Macc will fancy their chances of going through after winning on their last two league visits to Hull.

Macclesfield manager David Moss said: "It's somewhere we can go with confidence.

"Hull are one of the biggest clubs in the FA Cup at this stage, and it will be a good little pay day for us.

"The draw could have been a lot worse.

"Hull are going well under Peter Taylor, and it will be tough for us, but we've got nothing to lose. I'm looking forward to it."
