Moss at the south coast

30/ 8/2002

SOCCER: Manager David Moss has been clocking up the miles for Macclesfield Town this week.

Moss drove all the way down to Bournemouth - Macclesfield's next opponents - to watch their 1-1 draw with Oxford.

And he drove all the way back without stopping over so that he could take training the following day (Wednesday).

Moss and his backroom staff are increasing their scouting commitments this season to help the club save money.

He said: "I've not seen Bournemouth since they were relegated at the end of last season.

"It's keeping me busy, but that's the way I like it."

Meanwhile, it's a case of one in at Macc and one out at the Cherries.

The Silkmen are due to make a loan signing today (Friday), while Bournemouth's director of football Mel Machin has quit the club.

Elsewhere, the Silkmen have reduced prices for their Worthington Cup tie with Barnsley.

Seats for the Moss Rose clash, on Wednesday, September 11, will cost £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Standing will cost £8 (£4 concessions).

The match will not be all-ticket, and fans will be able to pay on the gate.

Season ticket holders will be able to claim their regular seat from tomorrow (Thursday) until Friday, September 6.
