New striker joins injury pile-up

SOCCER: New signing Neil Robinson has joined a Macclesfield injury list numbering 11 players.
The striker limped out of Saturday's Port Vale clash with an ankle injury.
He joins Lee Hardy, who was carried off in the same game but his bruised shin isn't expected to keep him out for long.
Chris Byrne is fighting to be fit for the start of the season, as his achilles injury is proving a problem for the Silkmen.
Others currently sidelined included first-teamers Kyle Lightbourne, John Askey, Shaun Came and Matt Woolley, while youngsters Steven Brackenridge, Andrew Teague and Paul Swan are also on the treatment table.
Such a list has led to manager David Moss calling off this week's scheduled friendlies against Flixton and Nuneaton, although the Crewe Alexandra clash at Moss Rose on Saturday (August 3) goes ahead before the York City season's opener a week later.
Meanwhile, Macclesfield lost 2-1 at home to Port Vale at the weekend.
Chris Priest levelled matters - off the back of some good work by Danny Adams and Robinson - after Michael Welch scored an own goal under pressure from Brett Angel. Neil Briscoe grabbed a winner in the second half.
