O's consider Glover the main threat

13/12/2001

SOCCER: Leyton Orient come to Macc on Saturday having targeted Lee Glover as the Silkmen's dangerman.

Lee Glover - along with Chris Byrne - bagged a brace against Swansea in the last match, a fact not lost on Orient's Paul Brush.

Brush told the Waltham Forest Guardian: "I haven't seen him play for a couple of years but I know he is a good forward.

"At this level you don't have to be a quick striker to cause trouble because someone with a bit of a brain and knowledge, such as Lee, will be a threat."

Brush will also be renewing acquaintances with former West Ham colleague Kevin Keen at the Moss.

For Macc, winger Jeff Smith is again available for selection after the Bolton loan signing was ineligible for last week's FA Cup clash.

The Silkmen will be looking for revenge over Orient who last season did the double over Macc.

Youngster Jabo Ibehre did the damage when the O's came to the Moss, grabbing both goals in the 2-0 home loss.
