SOCCER: Macclesfield boss David Moss has moved to bolster his first team squad with the loan signing of inspirational Crewe defender Steve Macauley.
The 32-year-old centre back will sign on today (Wednesday) for one month initially and Moss expects him to be in the squad for the Silkmen's game with Leyton Orient on Saturday.
"I've spoken to him today and he will be training with us tomorrow.
"I've never worked with him before but I've known of him for a long time. He has had a very good career, is experienced and has been a big part of what Crewe have achieved," said Moss.
Macauley signed for Crewe from Fleetwood town for £25,000 10 years ago but lost his place in the division side through injury earlier this season.
