Kyle misses cup clash

SOCCER: Kyle Lightbourne is out of the Silkmen's tough FA Cup replay at Forest Green Rovers.

Moss has been boosted by the return of Lee Glover and Karl Munroe for the clash.

But Lightbourne has failed to make his expected return, while Bolton loan-signing Jeff Smith is ineligible as the Premiership outfit don't want him cup-tied.

Moss told the club's website: "Although Kyle had earmarked this game to make his return I don't think he's quite ready yet and will probably wait until next week and we'll see about a reserve game."

Following Saturday's 4-1 win over division three pacesetters Luton Town, hopes are high of cup success. But Macc's new gaffer is urging caution.

"It'll be a different prospect to Saturday but I don't want it to be any different in terms of commitment or professionalism," he added.

"We've now seen exactly what this squad is capable of and they've set themselves a very high standard.

"I will be drumming that into them this week because I want them to live up to that every game, starting tomorrow at Forest Green."

Highlights of the clash are expected to be screened on Match of the Day tomorrow evening (Wednesday).
