Keen: We will 'work our socks off'

29/10/2001

SOCCER: Silkmen gaffer Kevin Keen says there is still a long way to go after seeing his side lose their third successive match.

Their 1-0 loss at York was the third consecutive odd-goal defeat, but Keen believes his side will show the character to turn results around.

"There are still 30 games left, that's a long, long way to go. We've just got to get together as a group of players and work our socks off," Keen said.

"Our injured players will start coming back into contention next week.

"We're just going through one of those patches when nothing seems to go right for us."

Keen paid tribute to Steve Wilson for a series of top-class saves and told of his disappointment at the final whistle.

"I thought we deserved at least a draw. In the second half Alan Fettis had to make three or four good saves," he added.
