More successful trials for the children

SOCCER: The advanced Silkmen Coaching Centre, which is run by the Football in the Community Scheme at Macclesfield Town, has just held more successful trials.

Many children attended the trials where they hope to follow in the footsteps of children from last year's course and gain a place in the club's developing Centre of Excellence.

Community Coach David Conlon is keen to stress that the aim of the centre is to provide local talented u12 players an additional training opportunity.

All the sessions are coached by qualified UEFA coaches, where a child's attendance does not interfere with the players commitment to their junior team. He said: "Our aim is to provide a supplementary coaching opportunity to children of a recognised standard in the hope that they may further develop their ability to enjoy football and if they attain a place in the Centre of Excellence, that is a bonus."

There are still places available for players within the under 10 age group, so if any coaches or parents feel their child has the desire and drive to be a future star, call David Conlon and ask about to Coaching Centre.
