New disabled facilities give a boost to the Silkmen supporters

13/ 9/2001

SOCCER: It was with great delight that Macclesfield Town were able to officially open the "Cheshire Building Society" sponsored disabled facilities in the Alfred McAlpine stand.

Matthew Lenton the commercial manager at Macclesfield Town said: "I am just delighted for our disabled community to be able to offer them access to such a superb facility, the Cheshire Building Society have offered superb support for not only the disabled facilities here at the club but also in advertising and sponsorship".

Mr Andy Mellor, a disabled Silkmen fanatic was asked to officially open the facilities along with Cheshire Building Society chief executive Colin Whittle.

"We are very proud to be supporting the local disabled community here at Macclesfield Town. It's an excellent facility and I'm sure will be enjoyed for years to come" said Mr Whittle.

This now sees the Alfred McAlpine Stand near completion, all that remains is for the I.T centre development to be finalised, then the "dream" of chairman Eddie Furlong will have reached reality!
