Macc sign midfielder

SOCCER: The Silkmen have signed Stockport County midfielder Dave Smith on a month-long loan deal.
The left-footed midfielder will take the place of Kevin Keen, who is expected to be sidelined for three weeks.
Smith has got Premiership experience with Norwich City. He joined Stockport after a spell with Oxford United, but has fallen out of favour with present manager Carlton Palmer.
"Dave Smith has shown a fantastic attitude in training. He's worked very hard, lost weight and got himself in good shape," Carlton Palmer said.
"He can probably pass a ball as well as anyone at the club but, in my opinion, is not quite mobile enough for first division football."
Smith will wear the number 37 shirt.
