Ince leaves Dons

25/ 6/2008

PAUL Ince has left Milton Keynes Dons to take up the post of manager at Premiership Blackburn Rovers.

Ince, who began his managerial career at Macc Town in October 2006, won the League Two title and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with MK Dons last season.

The 40-year-old’s appointment, which sees him take over from former Manchester United team-mate Mark Hughes at Ewood Park, was confirmed this week and he makes history as the first black Briton to manage a club in the top flight of Engliush football.

Ince (pictured right) left the Moss Rose last summer to join the Dons, taking numerous players and backroom staff members to stadium:mk.

The former England captain won 12 league games in rescuing the Silkmen from a highly likely drop into the Blue Square Premier in the 2006/07 season.
