On horse for victory

18/ 6/2008

ALL the King’s horses came first when the school’s equestrian squad produced a clean sweep of victories.

The King’s competitors excelled at the recent Beaverhall Dressage Championships.

Teachers and pupils from King’s Girls’ Division combined to record a stunning series of wins in their first competitive event.

Rosie Swinhoe won two classes on her horse Sweet William, with further victories going to Alice Taylor on Rocky and Lauren Hanley on Knights Song.

Teacher and coach Rachel Maddocks completed the winning streak on her horse Ashley.

Fellow competitor Rosie Taylor said: "It is very exciting to be the first girls to represent King’s in equestrianism.

"There is a tremendous team spirit and we are all urging each on in our respective classes."
