Bosley pull together

BOSLEY tug of war club won two gold medals in the Midland Tug of War Championships.

They built on that achievement recently with a silver medal at an open international tournament, held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the English Tug of War Association.

Bosley’s strongest performance in the latest international competition was in the 680 kilos event, where the team reached the final after finishing joint top of their group with Felton Eccles.

In the semi-finals Bosley defeated Sandhurst before meeting Felton Eccles again in the final, which Bosley narrowly lost by two ends to one.

At the Midland Championships, the Bosley side met local rivals Sheen in the final.

Despite a strong performance from Sheen, Bosley came out on top with a two-ends-to-nil win.

Bosley performed well in the 680-kilo event, brushing aside rival teams to set up another meeting against Sheen in the final.

Again, Sheen pushed Bosley to the limit, but the result was another 2-0 win for Bosley.

Bosley are currently in training for the national championships, which take place at the West Midland Show on Saturday, June 21.

Gold medals at this event could see the Bosley side represent England at this year’s World Outdoor Championships in Sweden in September.
