Four second-half tries from Cinderford were enough to keep Macclesfield stuck at the bottom of the National League One table.
Tries from Martin Kent, Dave Marwick and Elliot Brierley were not enough to turn things around against the side at Downham Park.
Director of rugby Geoff Wappett said: "When we made an error it showed on the scoreboard and, when we made one error, it would turn into another and another.
"The errors kept them in the game. As ridiculously one-sided as that score was, we had a larger portion of the play than they did.
"I think at this juncture all I can say is that changes are needed, whether we can make all that are needed, that just depends simply on whether we’ve got the players to come back."
Macclesfield enjoyed the majority of the possession in the first half, capitalising on this with a try from Martin Kent after five minutes.
Captain Tom Eaton converted to give the Blues an early 7-0 lead.
Cinderford were quick in reply, as Jack Adams ran clear of the defence to set up winger Sam Caven. Fly-half Mark Davies scored the conversion to equalise for the home side.
Minutes later Lloyd Stapleton stepped up for Cinderford, who dummied the defence and scored his fifth try of the season, making him the league’s top try-scorer.
Despite an improved performance from the previous weeks, Macclesfield struggled to get behind the ball and find the gaps in Cinderford’s defence.
As the second-half approached the ball was turned over and Cinderford were on the attack, substitute Joe Garner broke through but was stopped in a last-ditch tackle.
The ball went out for a lineout after a good tackle from Kent allowed the Blues to regain possession.
The half-time whistle blew and Blues went in trailing 14-7, unable to benefit from the possession that was in their favour.
Cinderford came back even stronger after the break, as Adams and Will Foden both scored in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
Clumsy errors were made by the Blues to stop any attacks building up, however despite this Kent and Tom Davenport continued to impress with fearless tackles to stop Cinderford’s forward line.
Dave Marwick scored an impressive solo-effort after 65 minutes, touching down on the right wing; the conversion was missed to bring the score to 33-12.
Cinderford were once again quick to respond, as Sam Arnott scored after finding a gap in the defence to run clean through.
Elliot Brierley scored the last try of the match for Macclesfield, converted by substitute Josh Longmore. However it was not enough to earn them the bonus point as the full-time whistle went with the score at 38-19.
Wappett added: "We got into good field positions and constantly spoiled it by making stupid errors – some of them were really bad.
"I was disappointed with our senior players who managed the game, who should be the controllers. They’re making a lot of mistakes themselves which makes controlling the game difficult, and it also means some of the junior members of the team find it hard as well.
"We’ve made changes in the first four games, more through injuries and things like that, but I’ve tried to give the opportunity for people to recover and essentially that hasn’t brought it’s reward.
"Injuries still hinder our ability to make changes and there is still a lot of work to do on the physio table.
"The changes that I will make are obviously geared up to what the physio says, there are certain limitations.
"I looked around at all the faces and they’re all faces that I know can play good rugby but it’s not happening at the moment, defensively we’re not as sharp as I know we can be.
"It is the mistakes that are killing us – against Cinderford there were many times when we were in the driving seat and then a pass is intercepted and it leads to a try at the other end.
"It’s a discouragement to our team and it’s a massive boost of confidence to your opponents.
"I think it’s vital that we pick up points from Cambridge next week as we could be in a fight at the bottom end of the table with them this season."
