PRESTBURY gymnast Jennifer Pinches is hoping to emulate her training partner Beth Tweddle and become a world champion.

Twelve-year-old King's Girls' Division pupil Jennifer was the British national champion in her age group in 2004, and has similar ambitions in the under-13s age group this year.

She trains for 30 hours each week in an elite performance squad with Britain's best ever gymnast Tweddle and rising star Aisling Williams.

Jennifer trains in Liverpool with national coach Amanda Kirby and on Saturdays.

In addition to her breathtaking gymnastics skills, Jennifer is also a budding actress and has been selected from thousands of children to be a finalist in Blue Peter's national competition.

Jennifer said: "I want to be good enough to qualify for the Olympic and World Championships, and, after that I'd like to work in television.

"It has been fantastic to train with Beth Tweddle.

"She is a great example of just what can be achieved with hard work and talent and as she has been through it all, she can point me in the right direction. I'm a lucky girl."

Principal of King's Girls' Division Liz Spence added: "Jennifer has a rare talent and King's wants to help her realise her potential."
