Tyson Fury is finally set to be unleashed in front of his home town fans – and if he has anything to do with it, his Manchester debut will be for the British title.

The English heavyweight champion is lobbying the British Boxing Board of Control to strip Dereck Chisora of his title.

Fury wants a third clash with long-time rival John McDermott for the Lonsdale belt – preferably at the MEN Arena this summer.

The 22-year-old from Wilmslow has been earmarked as a future world champion after amassing a 14-fight unbeaten record, which has seen him twice crowned English champion.

He said: "I’m a Manchester lad, yet I’ve never fought in Manchester. I would love to fight there – hopefully it will be for the British title.

"Plenty of people come to watch me, but it would be nice to fight in my home town."
