STYAL were once again left kicking their heels after their game against Golbourne was called off due to bad weather.

With the lack of match practice over the past few weeks, Styal's retention of the Presidents Cup could well be placed in jeopardy.

The club host Pilkingtons in the Quarter Finals and will be boosted by the return of Nick Challinor and Craig Brennen from holiday and Lloyd Morrison and Taffy Williams from other commitments.

This only leaves midfield lynchpin Steve Bailey to recover from his foot injury to give manager Martin Scholes a full squad to select from.

  • Styal's second team went down 1-0 to Golbourne Reserves on Saturday when some questionable refereeing decisions resulted in two players being sent off.

Manager Dave Oates is hoping the game against Pilkington Reserves this Saturday shows and improved performance to move the team up the league.

  • Styal's third team went one better with a creditable 3-3 draw against Sale Town. With only two more games of the season left the team is doomed to relegation. This Saturday they are at home to Atlantic FC.
  • In junior action, there were wins for Wimslow Pumas under-12s and 13s, Wilmslow Sports under-10s and Wilmslow JFC under-10s. More details in next week's Express Sport.
