THE Wilmslow Half Marathon, now firmly established as one of the UK's top road races, is to take place on Sunday March 25.

In addition to hundreds of local runners, the race, which starts at 10.30am on Kings Road in Wilmslow, attracts athletes and celebrities from all over the country.

This year's race, sponsored by Asics, also incorporates the Cheshire half-marathon Championships.

The race's two main charities this year are The Royal School for the Deaf and Cystic Fibrosis.

The demanding 13-mile course will be controlled by 120 marshalls as more than 4,000 competitors pound the roads.
