Wilmslow ladies enjoyed a brilliant 3-1 win at home to Crewe on Saturday.

The ladies started the game full of effort and determination and got an early goal from great teamwork by Kelman and man-of-the-match Davies.

In the second half Law got her first goal of the game, from a short corner delivered by Walters.

Crewe did get one goal in the second half, yet a great display from Lang in goal made sure this was the only one. Finney also upped her game and got a fantastic goal to make the final score 3-1 to Wilmslow, just reward for their 100 per cent effort.

However, the men’s firsts had a disappointing loss to Bolton.

Wilmslow fell 2-0 behind before they finally got their break with a great goal from Wright, set up by man-of-the-match Bloxham.

Wilmslow had some great passages of play yet Bolton continued to dominate and in the second half they got their third goal from a short corner.

Fortune was not with Wilmslow and as they pressed high up the pitch, Bolton grabbed two late goals, leaving the final score at 5-1.

Despite missing a goalkeeper Wilmslow’s ladies third XI had a fantastic weekend, especially Jess Moore, who scored her first goal for the club and went on to score another two for a well-deserved hat-trick in their victory.

Sam Holt led the men’s thirds to an emphatic win, scoring five times in their 7-1 win over Deeside Ramblers. Also on the mark were Winterbourne, who set up two goals, and Shirley, who completed the scoring late on.

The fourth XI fought out a really close game against Alderley Edge’s seventh team.

Despite a brace of goals from Captain McLennan, Alderley bossed the game in the final stages, going on to win 3-2.
