International honours should soon be coming thick and fast for Emily Spencer, despite England’s disappointment in the Easter Four Nations tournament.

Sixteen-year-old Emily, pictured with fellow Stockport Grammar School pupil and England representative Holly Hunt, was named in the England Under-18 squad after attending training camps around the country this year, and she’s set to continue her rise as England negotiate more competitions over the summer.

Emily, a member of Alderley Edge Hockey Club, was part of the squad that opened the tournament at Lilleshall National Sports Centre with a 3-2 victory over Scotland. But England’s competition went downhill from that point.

They were then beaten 2-0 by a strong Netherlands side before suffering a 4-1 loss to Germany and a 1-0 defeat in the return match against Scotland.
