Haigh Hall stars dominated the leader board on another excellent Manchester Alliance competition enjoyed by a full field at De Vere Mottram Hall.
Craig Corrigan was the first Haigh Hall player to win a prize, taking the individual pro top spot with 40 points after carding 68, to finish ahead of Knutsford’s Tim Maxwell (37) and Anthony Millar (Cheadle) and Jon Cheetham (Styal), who both carded 36.
Corrigan also led in the pro-am section with a superb haul of 45 points with club amateur Chris Seabrook playing a vital role in boosting the score.
Next in on 42 after winning a cpo were Haigh Hall’s Martin Longshaw and Horace Wilcox from Disley, and father-and-son duo Scott and Hugh Jackson.
A reminder was given to all clubs to return their club team knockout entries early in the New Year.
A Sunday Stableford at Styal was won by David Massey in the comfort zone of 39 points which left him well clear of Ivan Bloor (36), and John Chorlton (34).
Styal seniors showed off their skills in a Four Club Stableford which was led in by the versatile Steve Walker with a fine haul of 38 points.
Also doing well were Alan Trinick (37) and Phil Moore, Malcolm Hollins, Gordon Laurence, Les Rimmer and Derek Lamb (all 34).
Shrigley Hall’s December medal had Barry Horrocks in sharp form as he won division one with a neat 64 from Peter Duffy (68), Brian Hopkins (69) and Steve Marsh (70).
It was tighter in division two with George Wright winning a cpo on 70 from Peter Dooley with Brian Williams and John Gaskell next in with 74’s.
Alderley Edge ladies enjoyed a 9-hole Stableford with Celia Berent first past the post with 16 points ahead of Jackie Hardcastle and Pam Butler (both 14).
Davenport’s men played a Two-from-Four Stableford and leading in with 62 points were Ian Ashcroft, John Weaver, Dave Hollin and Kevin Hope which saw them two ahead of Jon Lloyd, Stuart Law, Will Bell and Dave Fletcher.
