WILMSLOW lacrosse duo Mark Reynolds and Dan Green will represent England at the World Championship in Canada over the next 10 days.

The talented Styal Road-based players have had excellent seasons in the Men's North of England League - and are now looking to shine against the best teams in the world.

Green played for England at the 2002 World Championship in Perth, where England finished sixth. This year's tournament - held in Ontario between July 13-22 - should be extra special for the midfielder after being awarded the co-captaincy of the side.

"We need to start with a bang," said Green, pictured far right. "If we win our first game then I'm sure we could get on a roll. It's been a long build up, but we couldn't have wished for a better one.

"We've got to go with a winning mentality. If you aim low, then you will probably finish low. It's better to aim high and try your best.

"If we can get to the semi-finals that would be a great achievement.

"If we did that, from there a medal is a realistic goal."

England will play the Iroquois Nationals, Japan, Australia, Canada and defending champions United States in their group matches in the Blue Division.
