Styal fighter Tyson Fury has vowed to retire – at the age of 22 – if he loses his English title rematch with John McDermott tomorrow (Friday).

Last September, Fury won a controversial decision against McDermott but the 6ft 7in heavyweight promised: "It was a hard and tight fight but this time there will be no doubt about the winner."

"I got the vote on the night, but too many people have told me that I deserved to lose. I will put that right."

Fury is unbeaten in 10 fights and says he will knock out McDermott to avoid any contentious judging decisions.

"If I’m any good I’ll beat McDermott," he declared. "If I lose I will pack my gloves up and get a job. I don’t want to box at a lower level – what’s the point?"
