STYAL stars were out in force at the Manchester Captain’s Dinner at Mere Golf and Country Club.
The club’s legends (pictured above) were given a treat by main speaker Colin Brown the Captain of the R and A and after-dinner speaker Jed Stone as well as the Cheshire Captain John Kidd.
The medal final at Alderley Edge went to a fine nett 62 from S Corfield that saw him five shots clear of C Hoyland.
Wilmslow ladies played a singles Stablefod and Sybra Eardley led in division one after winning a card play-off on 35 points from Maureen Thompson.
Jane Middleton topped division two with 36 points, one more than Elizabeth Rymill, Jane Birkett and Ann Estridge.
The Ashford Cup at Wilmslow went to a two-round score of 138 from J Smith with Ian Menzies 141 and Brian Coutts 142 his nearest challengers.
The latest round of the Seniors Winter League at Styal was won by Phil Moore with 42 points, two better than Mike Lasham.
A Styal Wednesday Stableford had their young star Martyn Walsh in fine form with 39 points to finish three shots better than Pete Flanagan and C Scott.
Styal ladies played a singles Stableford and Irene Fletcher won a cpo on 40 points from Caroline George, with Tammy Chan a point off the pace.
