A devastating all-round performance by Lindow against Wistaston saw themrecord a 145-run win.

Wistaston put Lindow in to bat and the early exchanges seemed to vindicate the choice as accurate early bowling kept the score to just 12 from 10 overs.

Skipper Bracewell and Johnny Baltrop made light of the slow start by quickly settling into an assertive rhythm.

The second wicket partnership reached 105 from just 20 overs when Baltrop was finally out to a return catch off spinner Walsh for 66.

However, the wicket brought no respite for the home side, as Slinn (26) joined Bracewell in a stand of 51 before Bracewell missed a tired swipe at Brown to be bowled for 65.

With just six overs left and the score 168-3, Lindow cashed in their wickets in hand and the home side's fielding became ragged.

Slinn was caught from a skier, but Mike Parr moved the score on nicely with a busy 24 before he, Ben Squires and Sutton all fell to Brown.

Josh Longmore hit 16 not out from the last four balls of the innings as Lindow posted 225-7.

Henry Grover's leg stump yorker sent Barnes back after just one ball and, when he trapped Collins, the home side were in deep trouble at 5-2.

Wistaston soon gave up the run chase and tried to settle for survival to achieve a draw.

However, James Sutton and Homy Masud got into the act and, with Grover returning six for 25, Wisaston were bowled out for 80.

Such a victory will boost Lindow's confidence ahead of next week's game against promotion-chasing Chelford.
