WILMSLOW Albion Under-14s are league champions for the second year running.

Last year, they won Division Four of the Stockport Metro League and this year added the Division Two title, paving the way for them to join the top division just two years after the team's formation.

Under Gary Aspinall and Howard Matthewson, the team won all but two of their matches, which they drew.

Albion's only defeat came in the semi-final of the cup to the eventual winners from Division One.

In what was an outstanding achievement by the team, they won 20 games in a row between September and March, playing excellent football and getting some superb results along the way.

Wilmslow scored 143 goals during the season, the top scorers being Ross Guirey with 32, Max Wilkinson with 23 and Oliver McCall with 21.

They only conceded 22 goals, with Seif Elzarka and Ben Platt having 13 clean sheets between them. The defensive backline of Brogan Welsh, Max Harvey, David Forbes and Liam Aspinall were also instrumental in their success.

On behalf of the management and all the boys, thanks are expressed to all those who helped throughout the season and supported the team throughout.

The winning team are Simon Burlison, Liam Aspinall, Max Wilkinson, Ross Guirey, David Forbes, Ben Platt, Stefan Nielsen, Joel Williams, Seif Elzarka, Max Harvey, James Todd, Toby Rowe, Ali Matthewson, Oliver McCall, Jonny Stubbs, and Seb Etchells.
