Dukinfield Town 7
Wilmslow Albion 0

WILMSLOW Albion's poor start to the season has quickly turned into a disastrous one in the Manchester Premier League.

A narrow 2-1 midweek defeat at Stockport Georgians was quickly followed by a 7-0 thrashing at Dukinfield Town on Saturday.

The fact that all of Albion's league matches have been away from home is starting to have a potentially detrimental effect on the season.

Gareth McClelland's side undoubtedly have the talent, as they showed in pre-season, but now find themselves at the bottom of the table after six matches and in desperate need of the first win.

On Saturday, four goals from Phil Ainscough and one each for Simon Towey, Andy Kenworthy, Nick Turgeson saw Dukinfield secured the points.

However, it was not such a one-side affair against Stockport. Albion trailed 2-0 at half-time through goals by James Bowden and John Mills before rallying in the second half. They pulled a goal back from John O'Donald but were unable to grab an equaliser.

Wilmslow travel to Rochdale Sacred Heart on Saturday as the away fixtures continue. Albion's reserve team started their campaign at the weekend at Rochdale, where they went down 5-1. They travel to Salford AFC on Saturday.
