KING'S Junior Division athletes have completed a hat-trick in the Macclesfield and District Primary School Cross-Country Championships, lifting three of the four team events.

In the Year 5 and 6 event the girls' title went to King's star Bethany Burrows, with fellow King's runner Alix Davies coming second and Ivy Bank's Hannah Harkness in third place.

This meant King's A won the team event, with Macclesfield St John's in second place and King's B in third.

The boys' event was won by Thomas Mort from King's with Upton Priory's Tom Ramsey in silver medal spot and Sam Stockman from King's coming third.

The team title was won by King's A, with Upton Priory second and King's B third.

The girls' race for Years 3 and 4 was won by Rowena Moores, with the silver medal going to Marlborough's Beth Fairbrother and Imogen Hanson from King's winning the bronze. King's won the team title with silver going to Upton Priory and Prestbury finishing in third place.

The boys' individual title was won by Jacob Robert of Rainow with Douglas Swallow from Upton Priory in second spot and Matthew Baker from King's the bronze medal winner.

The team winners were Upton Priory, with Rainow second and Prestbury and St Albans tying for third.

King's Junior Division Principal, Geoff Shaw, said: "Many congratulations to all those who competed and our great thanks to Macclesfield Harriers for brilliantly organising the races."
