King’s pupils enjoyed Maximum Cheer when they played a key role in the top Macclesfield club’s superb national success at the National Cheerleading Championships at Manchester Central Convention Complex.

The squads – led by head coach Rachel Burrows –  enjoyed unrivalled success.

More than 80 per cent of the club’s membership are made up of King’s girls from across four divisions with the team coming home with nine first-place trophies, three second-place trophies and one third-place trophy, with nothing below.

Special congratulations need to go to the stunt groups who put onbreathtaking displays.

These routines involve only five individuals and ultimate team-work is required.

In the Junior Division, May Broadley, Izzy Moores, Lauren Harbige, Emily Friston and Susie Moores were outstanding though the older Junior Girls were equally impressive.

The Senior Stunt Group Members included Evie Hancox, Fiona Cornish, Sophie Decker, Hannah Barker, Rosie McBrinn, Katie Cornish, Rowena, Moores, Katie Fray, Frankie Hughes and Antonia Bianchi.

The Sixth Form girls – Beth James, Hattie Lasman, Katie Mellor and Lauren Shadwell – were spectacular in their performance too.
