CLAY PIGEON: Jim Symms proved too hot for the other 68 entrants in the 75 Sporting Clay Pigeon Shoot held at Barthomley.

Jim took this testing and varied ten stand layout in his stride to only drop eight clays for the High Gun title.

Steve Elliott continues to improve and missed out on the title by one clay. He left the remaining top five shots to sort it out in a photo finish.

Meanwhile, Byley shooting ground, near Knutsford, will re-open on October 14 with a 75 Sporting Clay open shoot.

The Rob Brindley Memorial Charity Shoot in aid of the Heart Foundation takes place on Sunday at Blakelow, Macclesfield. Last entries 1pm. £100 High Gun.
