A tight match at Bollington Rec saw last season’s Macclesfield and District Sunday Premier Division champions Pack Horse beat newly-promoted Spinners.

Terry Costello and Nick Ward gave Horse the lead. Stephen Wild pulled a goal back for Spinners but Harry Wheetman secured all three points as he scambled in the third.

Macc Boys Seniors were beaten 4-2 at home to Vale. A goal in the second minute from Rick Pulvertaft gave Macc Boys the perfect start but they failed to build upon it and had a lesson in finishing from Tom Jackson who scored four times for Vale. Adam Howard’s penalty was little consolation for Steve Coppenhall’s side.

A three-goal salvo in the second half from Ryan Foster paved the way to Queens’ 5-2 win against Oxfford.

Lee Johnson opening the scoring for the home side with Dave Billington adding a second. Foster finished the game having bagged four with captain Tom Wild adding a fifth.

Newly promoted Plough found it tough against Boarhound at Victoria Park going down 4-1 with centre half turned striker Matt Delargy scoring twice. Fellow strike partner Dec Fletcher and Chris Wilson completed the scoring. Roy Rostrum pulled a goal back late on for the visitors.

AC Bollan kicked off the season with a 4-3 win over Prestbury Club at Bonis Hall Lane.

Chris Allen, Mark Cunliffe and a brace from Lee McIntyre proved enough for Bollan while Lewis Peers, Tom Connor andCraig Scott netted for Prestbury.

First Division new boys Fox and Grapes secured all three points in their debut game in the MSL with a 4-2 win against Tytherington Juniors. John Geoghegan gave Juniors the lead but goals from Michael Luckman, Josh Lee and Ryan Skerrattgave the home team a three-goal advantage before Lewis Evans pulled one back.

Jonny Mercer broke Legion’s resolve as he scored five times in Broken Cross’ 7-1 victory over Poynton Legion. Tom Moores and Neil Smith also scored for Cross, Matt Roylance netting Legion’s goal.

Nags Head edged an 11-goal thriller against Chilli Banana 6-5.

Lee Anderson opened his account with a hat-trick including one from the penalty spot (a second penalty was saved in the second half by Chilli keeper Nathan Taylor) and he was joined on the scoresheet by Craig Millward, Anthony Byrne and Craig Poyser.

For Chilli, Jason Hanaghan hit a superb hat-trick with Mark Birchenough and Jonny Leigh weighing in with one a piece.

An extraordinary game at Clarke Lane saw Ash Ault scoring a hat- trick of penalties in a four-goal haul as Athletico Bruce beat Sporting Weston 4-3. Adam Docherty also scored from the spot for Sporting Weston. Danny Roberts and Sam Fraser completed the scoring for Sporting.

Poynton Village proved too strong for new boys Lord Byron as they ran out easy 5-1 winners at Poynton Sports Club. Andy Buckley opened the scoring for the home side with Rick Cash, Silvan Pesotte and Bobby Cash with two all finding the net. Josh Lewis added a consolation for Byron

Railway View smashed seven past new boys FC Bruce. Dave Barratt, Oli Brazier and Jermaine Leveridge all scored twice and Danny Hayes added a seventh.
