HANNAH Bristow has been selected by Henri Lloyd and Mailspeed Marine to receive a selection of technical marine clothing designed by Henri Lloyd and double gold medallist Ben Ainslie.

Ten-year-old Hannah, from Macclesfield, is currently competing in the Optimist class out of Budworth Sailing Club.

Through Henri Lloyd’s partnership with their retailer network, promising young sailors will receive a selection of the Ben Ainslie Junior Collection.

Macclesfield-born Ainslie has worked in conjunction with Henri Lloyd to design the junior range which includes spray tops, hiking pants, rash vests and a selection of accessories.

Ainslie’s unsurpassed sailing career, which ranges from Optimists, Lasers, Finn’s and more recently America’s Cup campaigns ensured an in depth sailing knowledge and experience was brought to the design and development of the range.

He said: "I have been sailing since I was eight years old and know how important it is to be properly kitted out whilst on the water.

"Developing a junior clothing range was really important to me, especially if it will inspire young sailors."

Ainslie has been supported by Henri Lloyd since 1996 which has included both his Sydney, Athens and Beijing gold medal winning successes.

That sponsorship will continue until after the 2012 London Olympics.

Simon Relph of Mailspeed Marine added: "We are really pleased to combine with Henri Lloyd and Ben Ainslie to support Hannah, she is a talented sailor with a bright future ahead of her. Maybe she too will go all the way to Olympic glory."
