Adlington Dan is the new Nike ambassador

Geoff Garnett
6/ 2/2008

ADLINGTON Driving Range trainee professional Daniel Haughian is delighted to have been given the status of a ‘Nike Ambassador’ for a large part of the North West Region.

Daniel 25, is in the second year of his PGA training at Adlington, which enables him to do some teaching as well as playing, with a good deal of success, in PGA North Region, Tamsel Tour, Excel Tour and the Europro Tour. He also finished in the top 10 of the MEN PGA North Region tournament at Mottram Hall last summer.

He was also runner-up in the Tamsel Tour championship at Hill Valley, Shropshire.

Daniel was educated at Marple Hall School and lived in Hazel Grove while being a junior member of both Stockport and Worsley Golf Clubs and he also played for Cheshire Boys before enjoying a five-year spell in the USA on a golf scholarship at State Central University of Central Arkansas, where he also completed a journalism degree before returning home in 2006 to start his PGA studies.

Daniel said: "I have also enjoyed working with Freddy Valenti of Rednet Golf Holidays, which is a first-class set-up providing good quality and well-organised golf in pro-ams or in groups with professionals in Murcia and Portugal.

"To be awarded the status of Nike Ambassador is another feather in my cap as I will represent them in Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire providing custom fittings for clients.

"This will be done using a launch monitor to get the right shaft and flex for maximum distance and accuracy and I will also be using Nike clubs, balls and clothing when playing in competitions.

"Anyone requiring more information can contact me on 07730 659923 or via email at danhaughian.golf@btinternet.com.
