The new president is Alan Brocklehurst who plays off 16 handicap and among his past duties at the club have been chairman of greens and junior organizer.

The MDLGA is now well past its Centenary year and, with nearly 90 clubs involved in its activities, is probably the biggest of its kind for lady club golfers in the world.

He followed this by winning the Bromborough Bowl, a Northern Order of Merit competition over 36 holes.
