Up for two cups

23/ 4/2008

MACCLESFIELD and District’s Under-15 Schoolboys reached their second cup final in two weeks with a comprehensive victory over Ellesmere Port.

Having already secured a place in teh Greater Manchester Schools’ Cup final, Macc were brimming with confidence as they kicked off at the Moss Rose.

An early strike by Ross Guirey put Macc ahead and, after the visitors missed a couple of chances to equalise, James Moss extended the lead with a fine strike.

James Goodyear made the game safe before half-time with Macc’s third goal.

In the second half, the boys never looked likely to surrender their lead, dominating and comfortably seeing out the game.

An entertaining game was well handled by Vincent Rossi as Macc won through to the final, where they face Wirral.

M&DSFA would like to thank Holiday Properties for their assistance this season.
