Horton rejoins Beast at Tigers

FORMER Macc boss Brian Horton has been named as Hull City's assistant manager.
Horton, who was sacked as Moss Rose manager in October following a dreadful opening to the season, was in charge at Hull's then-home, Boothferry Park, from 1984 to 1988, winning 77 of his 195 games at the Tigers' helm.
Hull boss Phil Brown was keen to appoint an experienced number two and Horton will link up with his former Silkmen charge, Jon Parkin.
It was Horton who transformed Parkin's career at the Moss Rose, turning him from a defender into a potent striker.
Parkin's upturn in form earned him a move to the Championship club but he has spent much of the last campaign on loan at Stoke City.
Seemingly set to move away from Hull in summer, 'The Beast' may yet have a future at the Tigers.
Horton will also link up with California-born goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, who turned out for Macc 16 times in a three-month loan spell in 2003.
Meanwhile, Steve Burr's claim that he has parted company with Northwich Victoria has been refuted by chairman Mike Connett.
In a bizarre situation for the Vics, Burr was thought to be considering legal action against Connett for constructive dismissal.
However, the club's owner has now released a statement claiming that Burr is still employed by Victoria.
