Silkmen appeal against Lee red card

10/ 1/2007

MACCLESFIELD have appealed for Tommy Lee's red card to be rescinded.

Paul Ince said after the Chelsea game: "The punishment was a disgrace, a double punishment. The ball was running away and it was not a sending-off.

"The professional referee didn't do his job, it was not a sending-off. It was a joke decision and we're looking to have it rescinded but, as Macc are a little club, I doubt if we'll get it changed. We hope to hear on Tuesday or Wednesday or we've got to find another goalkeeper for Saturday.

"The ref ruined the game. The first 15 minutes we let them dominate, but once they got their goal we got into the game.

"Murph showed great skill to put away his chance but you can't make a mistake against Chelsea at any time, let alone 40 seconds after we scored."
