Brentford 1 Macclesfield Town 0

6/10/2008

A 15TH minute Charlie McDonald goal was enough to send Macc to a second successive defeat.

Keith Alexander's men more than matched the Bees for long spells of the game but lacked a killer touch in front of goal.

Macc started brightly but Brentford opened the scoring with their first real attack of the game.

Glenn Poole fed Sam Wood whose near post cross was brillianlty flicked home on the volley by McDonald.

Macc's best chances fell to Simon Yeo and the impressive Danny Thomas.

However, both were denied by some fine saves from Brentford keepr Ben Haymer.
