LACKLUSTRE Macclesfield were demolished by Exeter as the Silkmen's three-game winning streak came to a sorry end.
Keith Alexander's men were behind after just 47 seconds when Exeter marksman Adam Stansfield volleyed home from six yards.
The Grecians extended their lead on 33 minutes when Ryan Harley glided into the box to pick out the far corner with a pinpoint left-foot shot.
Macc's veteran marksman Simon Yeo bagged his fourth of the season with a clinical strike from the edge of the box on the stroke of half time, but Exeter restored their advantage with Stansfield’s second close-range strike just three minutes after the break.
Both substitute Martin Gritton and Yeo hit the cross bar in the closing stages but Grecians skipper Matt Gill sealed the result with a fine finish from a narrow angle in the 84th minute.
