New star's not lost his drive

MACCLESFIELD’S new signing Lee Bell is hoping his summer move is the first step on the road to success.
And he admits that part of the reason for his move to the Moss Rose is to reduce his daily travelling.
The midfielder lives in east Cheshire and revealed that a four-hour round-trip to Mansfield Town had become "a bit of a drag."
His cause was not helped by a knee injury that limited him to 28 games since his move a year ago. Bell suffered a knock in a game in February and missed the side’s run-in that saw them drop out of the Football League, only returning to the first team for the final day of the season.
Twenty-five-year-old Bell was snapped up by Keith Alexander in the wake of the Stags’ relegation to the Blue Square Premier, and signed a one-year deal last week.
In spite of Macc’s now-traditional limited resources, Alexander was able to fend off interest from a number of interested clubs to land the former Crewe Alexandra trainee.
"Keith explained to me what plans he had for next season," he told the club’s official site. "Where I could fit in was a big factor in my decision to sign.
"Now I can’t wait to get started when the pre-season gets underway."
