Barnet 2 Macclesfield Town 2

10/12/2007

DRAW specialists Macclesfield Town surrendered a gift-wrapped start to record their tenth stalemate of the season.

They made the perfect start in the third minute when young left-back Jimmy McNulty bundled home through a crowd of players.

Macc couldn't believe their luck on seven minutes when Levi Reid opened his account for the club, pouncing on a fumble from Bees' keeper Lee Harrison.

Typically, however, they let their guard down five minutes later when Liam Hatch headed home a Jason Puncheon corner.

Star striker Francis Green missed a sitter for the Silkmen after 70 mintes and they were made to pay in the first minute of injury time when they left Neal Bishop free to head home from six yards for an undeserved point.

Manager Ian Brightwell said: "We did enough to win and Green should have nicked a third, but I was pleased with the performance and I am not going to rant and rave."
